Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your use of commissioncu.org and any related pages operated by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, doing business as The Commission on Colleges and Universities (“the Commission,” “we,” “us”). By using this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About This Site
This site provides public information about accreditation, the Commission’s standards and policies, its member institutions, and its initiatives. Content is provided for general informational purposes. It does not constitute legal, financial, or educational advice, and it does not create any relationship between you and the Commission.
Accreditation Information
We work to keep information about institutions and their accreditation status accurate and current. However, the official record of an institution’s status is maintained by the Commission, and website content may not reflect the most recent actions. To confirm an institution’s status, use Find an Institution or contact us directly.
The current version of any policy or standard is the version published on this site with the most recent “Last Updated” date. Earlier versions are provided for reference only.
Use of Commission Content
Content on this site, including text, documents, graphics, and design, is owned by or licensed to the Commission and is protected by copyright and other laws.
- You may: view, download, and print content for personal, educational, or institutional use, and quote or reproduce Commission documents such as the Principles of Accreditation, provided you credit the Commission and do not alter the content.
- You may not: sell Commission content, alter it in a way that changes its meaning, or present it in a way that suggests it is the Commission’s current official position when it is not.
Names, Logos, and the Accreditation Seal
“The Commission on Colleges and Universities,” “SACSCOC,” the SACSCOC accreditation seal, and related logos are marks of the Commission. They may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or accreditation without the Commission’s permission. Use of the accreditation seal and accreditation statements by member institutions is governed by The Commission. Media may use the Commission’s logo, as provided in the Media Hub, to identify the Commission in news coverage.
Acceptable Use
When using this site, you agree not to:
- Interfere with the site’s operation or security, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it
- Access the site through automated means at a volume or rate that burdens its performance
- Submit information that is false, misleading, or submitted in someone else’s name
- Upload malicious code or content that is unlawful, harassing, or defamatory
- Use the site in a way that misrepresents your relationship with the Commission or an institution’s accreditation status
Information You Submit
Some pages let you submit information, such as complaints, third-party comments, inquiries, or registrations. Complaints and third-party comments are handled under the Commission’s published policies, which explain how that information is reviewed and with whom it may be shared: Complaint Policy; Third-Party Comment policy. Please do not submit information you are not entitled to share. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Institution Portal and Other Services
Access to the institution portal and other password-protected services is limited to authorized users and may be subject to additional terms.

This site may link to websites operated by others, including member institutions and government agencies. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
